It’s been three years already. A is a whirlwind, they have strength and character. Also tenderness. They take care of babies. They know how to ask for what they want and how to stand up for themself. I like that. They don’t let themself be intimidated, not by ghosts (who we know to scare away with laughter, we learned that from Totoro) or by their two dads. We negotiate, get angry, apologize, hug it out, and say we love each other. They’re talking nonstop now, though they struggles with the sound of “r”. “Quistian”, they call me. They still answer me in Spanish, but understand everything I say, and I know it’s just a matter of time. These days we’ve celebrated their birthday and today, March 4th, our “adoptaversary”, because both dates are important. The day they came into the world, and the day we met (suddenly and forever becoming family). They always want me to always sing the Oompa Loompa song. Other times, they won’t let me sing. We’re still getting to know each other, and every day brings new challenges, but I now understand that this is the love of my life, the best thing that ever happened to me. Accompanying them, the most important job. Everything else falls into place, is rearranged, or put into perspective. I love you so much, Alvarite. The other day, they said it to me for the first time: “te quiero mucho, papá”.
«Primera cita» es un encuentro entre vecinas no tan vecinas, una invitación extendida a los grupos de mayores que se reúnen en Casa San Cristóbal y en La Casa Encendida.
Semanalmente, y desde hace años, se reúnen en sendas casas. Tienen mucho en común ¡pero también son singulares! Comparten un interés por aprender cosas nuevas, salir de la soledad y practicar el apoyo mutuo.
Han estado conociéndose en la distancia, a través de grabaciones, preguntas y escritos, durante las últimas semanas a través del artista y mediador Christian Fernández Mirón. El domingo 2 de febrero de 2025 a las 12h, en el torreón de La Casa Encendida, tendrá lugar su primera cita, se verán por vez primera con juegos, música y algo de picar.
Entrada libre hasta completar aforo. También he diseñado un pequeño souvenir que entregaré a cada participante (canciones para una primera cita 🎶).
